What is the Mission of VCF? Pursue Jesus, Practice Love. What is the Vision of VCF?  Look Up, Love Others, Launch Out (Booklet: Who We Are)
So, what does that mean? What will God be doing among us in 2019?

Some of you are familiar with Prov. 29:18 KJV Where there is no vision, the people perish: Most often you hear this verse out of context without the end. Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keeps the law, happy is he.

Other versions treat the text a bit different: “Where there is no prophetic vision the people cast off restraint but blessed is he who keeps the law.” ESB “Without revelation people run wild, but one who follows divine instruction will be happy.” CSB Do you notice a correlation between vision and joy or blessing in following God’s instructions?

My question to you as members today is this: Are you willing to participate in the vision of VCF? If so, are you willing to follow God’s guidance?

You see, it’s one thing for your leaders to give our church a vision, but it is contingent on following God’s divine guidance. In essence, our mission statement!

So, what might that look like? Let me suggest 2 areas:

First, since last spring, we have made paying off our mortgage a priority. While we have included an aggressive amount of money in our budget for debt reduction, I am concerned that when we automate the process, sometimes we tend not to rely on faith.

While eventually it will free up money for ministry in other areas, I want to challenge each of you to consider stepping out in faith during the year to make extra gifts as God gives them to you to designate mortgage reduction.

Second, how important is Family ministry at VCF? We continue to witness our families under attack in our secular culture. Many young people are not continuing in their faith after high school. That needs to change and change now.

God is doing significant work among us, and we are witnessing many changed lives. But we have neglected our ministry to families. The Elders are convinced that we need to build a stable foundation of families, who reflect the mission of VCF and the Vision of Look up, Love Others & Launch Out.

So, I am asking you today, to consider how you can step alongside our new family pastor and his family and the families of VCF? If building up families in the faith becomes a priority, it will mean that VCF will need to truly reflect an inter-generational family of believers.

What do you say? Are you ready for this new adventure God is going to take us? If you are then I want, you to do 3 things.

Pray for your leadership and Pray for our families. But don’t stop there!
Take action. Ask Adam how you can be involved supporting our families?
Ask God How You can be a part of the exciting journey God is guiding VCF in for the future.

“Because where there is no vision, the people perish, but joyful is the one who follows God’s instructions.” We can do this Victory!
